Last week the Heat Vulnerability Project team in collaboration with The City of Rockingham hosted a Pharmacy Networking Sundowner event at the Sailing Yacht Club in Rockingham Beach.
This event provided a unique opportunity for pharmacists to discuss the potential impacts of high heat on their clients, what can be done to reduce the risks and the logistics behind offering delivery service.
The City of Rockingham Home Cooling Subsidy Scheme has now been exhausted. We were able to subsidize cooling items for 185 applicants across the length of the Scheme. The City of Rockingham will continue this initiative next summer.
Within the City of Rockingham there are currently three activated cooling spaces, The Rockingham Central Library, Mary Davies Library and Safety Bay library. All of these locations are equipped with cold water, bathroom facilities, Wi-Fi and plenty of activities to keep you occupied when the weather is 35 degrees or above.
Cool spaces are now LIVE at libraries across the City of Rockingham area, these spaces will go to special lengths to ensure the safety of residents during days where the temperature is 35 degrees or above.
