Pilot Sites

The Project has been working across three diverse pilot sites in WA to introduce heat adaptation actions based on a method of engaging with community partners. These sites are the City of Rockingham, Town of Port Hedland and the Shire of Bridgetown/Greenbushes. A series of recommendations are in the process of community socialisation; however, this project will use co-design methods to ensure activities are useful for local communities.

The Projects key focus is developing heat interventions for these communities and the activation of existing networks to promote the community’s ability to deal with periods of extreme heat. There is funding for each pilot site to receive several interventions, these interventions may be physical infrastructure, educational tools or subsidy schemes.
