Port Hedland News

The Heat Vulnerability Project team visited Hedland this week to co-facilitate a large group learning session from Elders and Wangka Maya Aboriginal Language Centre and the Youth Involvement Council and their amazing young people. This session allowed for cross-generational learnings and passionate discussions around climate adaptation, Kariyarra peoples cultural practices and heat reduction techniques. This session was the final of 5 education sessions conducted with the young people at Youth Involvement Council.

Connecting with Elders and cross-generational learnings has been a priority in the Kariyarra site, our team is extremely grateful for the contributions from Traditional Owners in the area.
