Carole Green

Project Manager

Carole Green comes to the Heat Vulnerability Project with a climate change and public health research background. Her previous work ranges distributing the COVID vaccine to marginalized groups, to her global research on public health indicators of climate adaptation through the Lancet Countdown. She remains passionate about connecting communities and keeping people safe from the impacts of climate change. In her personal life she enjoys being with friends, getting outside as much as possible, and traveling.

Jacob West

Project & Communications Officer

Jacob brings a rich background to the Heat Vulnerability Project, combining a deep commitment to caring for country with expertise in climate research and the integration of First Nations practices with Western academic approaches. His diverse experience spans tertiary mental health settings, youth work centers, residential care, and research institutes. Jacob is particularly passionate about how diverse communities can be recognized and supported in resilience and recovery policy planning. Before shifting careers in 2020, he honed his skills as a chef, working in kitchens across the state from the age of 14.

The project also has extensive partnerships across the sector, including with Department of Communities, Department of Health, and the Bureau of Meteorology. These state-wide partnerships make up the strategic and working groups that guide this project’s development and outcomes. The project also works directly with local governments and community organisations in each of the pilot sites, the project also consults directly with community to hear their needs. These guide and facilitate the project’s work in each of the pilot sites.
